For You

This is my last posting for the day and probably for most of the week. Reality begins again tomorrow with returning to work. Oh well, as my husband says, we have to eat.

I just realized that this card will work for two challenges -- Rainbow Lady and Sketch Saturday.

I used one of the free downloads from Daisy and Dandelion -- just love this little fella and the sketch for Sketch Saturday. The sketch called for circles as well. Rainbow Lady wanted balloons. I had fun with this sketch also -- I seem to have fun with all of these, have you noticed that? -- the colors I picked were nice, bright and springy.
I enjoy all of the challenges and it is hard to pick only one so I try to combine as many as I can. I am a challenge junkie!! I keep practicing with the hope of being on a DT one day ..... Thanks for looking.

Tutie Frutie

There is a new challenge over at Scrappy Frogs and the first challenge has to do with food. I didn't have any themed papers to use so I used a House Mouse stamp and some pink and blue paper that reminded me of blue raspberry, bubble gum and cotton candy ... does this count?? I also used the sketch for Creative Inspirations and really had a good time making this one.

My Heart belongs to You

I made this card for the Pollycraft and Creative Card Crew challenges. The sketch was provided by Pollycraft and Creative Card Crew wanted warm colors so this is what I cam up with. I think it turned out OK.
I inked the edges using SU! Baroque Burgundy. I believe the striped paper was from a Mickey Mouse themed set that I have and the burgundy is Color Core Cardstock.

Whiff of Joy challenge

This card is for the Whiff of Joy challenge. I used creams and red for the colors. When it came together it reminded me of vintage, the colors turned out very well together and the sketch really pulled it all together. I didn't have any red flowers so I used my Accent Essentials Cricut cart and made several in different sizes and layered them. I added pearls for the finishing touch. I finished the inside but forgot to take a picture of it before the card went to its new owner.

You had me at Moo

This is a two challenge card - I used the sketch from the Pink Elephant and more mustard, bashful blue and not quite navy colors from Our Creative Corner. I just love the way this card turned out, the color combination is awesome. The sketch worked perfectly with the colors as well. I think this is one of my favorites and I haven't had a favorite in quite awhile. Here is a look at the inside of the card. A little more than I usually do but I thought it needed to have all of the same colors so I added yellow ribbon.

You light up my life

This card is for two challenges - Card Patterns and Cupcake Craft. The sketch is card patterns and Cupcake Craft wanted us to use a monster. I found a SU! stamp that I forgot I had (guess that means I have far too many stamps -- NOT!!).
This little guy was so fun but he was in three pieces. The name of the stamp set is All Mixed Up. I colored him using my Prisma watercolor pencils and SU! blending pen. I used Classic Old Olive ink for the edges of the paper and yellow foam circle. I also used a sentiment stamp from the SU! Mini Mates set.

Cracked Up

This is an interesting card that I made for the House Mouse and Lili of the Valley challenges. House Mouse called for a shaped card and Lili of the Valley called for an Easter Card.

This was not my intention for the card but after picking the shape and cutting out all I could see was an egg. I didn't have any House Mouse stamps that were of a duck or chick so this was the closest I had. So, this is what I came up with.

Buzzin' around soon

This card was made for the Magnolia vs Stampavie challenge which calls for a shaped card. This is my first try at making anything other than what you would call a normally shaped card.
I used my Pooh and Font cartridge and Design Studio to make the shape. I used a new Tilda from the Spring kit club and colored her using my prisma watercolors. The sentiment is from a SU! set that I have. The white that you see on the back side is a piece of foam that I added for stability -- guess I should have used black

Just Ducky!

This was made for the The Corrosive Challenge and Stamps and Smiles challenge. TCC's challenge was for anything to do with water and the layout is for Stamps and Smiles. This was a quick card to do and fun at the same time. This was the first time for me making 'water' with my prisma watercolors and it turned out OK. The sentiment is from a SU! set that I have and the stamp is from Whimsy. I added a couple little flowers in each corner to add to it.

The inside of the card has the same papers and a white mat for personalization.

BBTB and Kaboodle Challenges

This card is for the BBTB and Kaboodle challenges. Kaboodle used a sketch and BBTB used the 'Spring' cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.

I used my cuttlebug to emboss the background and inked the folder before embossing. This was my first try at inking a folder and it turned out OK, kind of fun really. I used a brayer to evenly spread the ink on the folder, that part wasn't too fun as the brayer is a pain to clean. To clean the folder a baby wipe works great. I used Reflection from Sugar Nellie as my stamped image and added a lavendar daisy to the tail of the spring cut. A bow of two colors finished it off.
Inside is decorated using a MS punch and a white mat for a personal message to the recipient.

Best of Friends

I made this card for the Twice as Nice challenge over at Dottie's World. Two of the Charmed downloads were to be used. I chose Holly and Madison.

I just love coloring these ladies, they are so fun. I used my prismacolor pencils and blending pen to color and my Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge for the sayings. I also stitched using my newly acquired Singer Pixie. Great little lightweight battery or power sewing machine.

The inside of the card is also decorated. I put glitter on the You and Me because they blended against the background.

Spring Tilda

Here is a Tilda I made using the new Spring stamp kit. This is my first stamp kit and I was soooo excited when it came. Can't wait to order the next one. I am in love .......
I used variegated paper, blended the wings using the same colors and stamped little butterflies on the card. For the antennas on Tilda I used wire (too hard to try to cut them out) :)

This is my first coloring of Daisy. I have wanted this stamp for some time and finally found it in stock. I love how this turned out especially the colors. Who thought Blue and Brown together would make such a pretty combination. I made this for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.

Gorjuss Girl

I purchased the Gorjuss Girls stamp set from Funky Kits out of the UK. Just love these stamps so needed to use one right away. I colored her with black hair and used the layout from Prairie Paper and Ink.

I am also entering this in the Colour Create challenge to use Turquoise, Navy and Lime with an added challenge of no designer paper.

Sending Love - 5 challenges with 1 card

Well, it's been over a week since my last post. Have been very busy at work with not much time to do anything else. Decided not to work tonight and do some posting instead.

This card is made with a Sugar Nellie stamp that I just love. I made this for several challenges. Sugar Bowl, ABC, Three Clovers , Daring Cardmakers and Lili of the Valley. The paper that I used I have had for a couple of years. It is a themed paper (not sure where I got it) and it has all different pronounciations of Mom.

Hugs and Kisses

This card is for Corrosive and Pollycraft challenges. For Corrosive the challenge is green and the sketch I used was for Pollycraft. I used a Magnolia stamp - Tilda holding flowers. I hand colored her using Prisma watercolors and added some small flowers in place of the stamped ones.

I made this card for Dottie's challenge that she posted on Sunday. I started out making Holly as a teenager but as she progressed she reminded me of a very special friend so I changed directions. This card is so her and she loves the 70's so that is what this became. I used some stash fibers that fit perfectly with the color scheme, the SU! Groovy stamp set and some peace sign paper. I even put a little orange pom pom on Holly's hat. I really like how this came out.

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

Found out about this Design Team call over at Card Doodles - Patricia - blog. She has a couple of great cards that she has posted for this DT spot. There will be 10 people chosen for creating the DT. Boy, I sure would like that, I just love doing this craft and coloring my precious little ones.
Here are couple of my cards that I have chosen to enter. They are favs of mine so thought that it would be OK to post.

I just love these cute little mice that I got from Whimsy Stamps. These are so cute and they were a blast to color! Colored them with my Prisma watercolor pencils.

This is a whiff of joy stamp and the card was made for a challenge that I was unable to get posted to before it closed -- so sad for me, maybe next time. More coloring with Prisma. I love these pencils, they blend so easily with a blender.

U R Priceless

I made this card for two challenges - TECC59 and House Mouse. I used the sketch for Taylor Expressions (TECC) and the theme from House Mouse creating a man card. I had a number of sayings that I thought fit the card but wasn't too sure how well they would be received so I didn't use them. One was "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz" and the other was from a song - "Oh what a night". Any hoo, I decided to go with UR Priceless. Could have a number of meanings so think that it is OK. I used my Prisma watercolor pencils to color the mouse and small rhinestones that my DD bought. The UR Pricesless is from the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge.

This card turned out to be for a number of challenges. It wasn't designed that way but if it works out that way I am grateful! I love the challenges but with only two days off a week the more I can get to the better!! This is a download from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I really had fun coloring her, her skirt is varigated for the different colors that the card is made from. I added flowers and coordinating brads along with a ribbon of the same colors. Here are the different challenges that this card works for:

Sweet Little Thing

I made this card for the Mojo Monday and the Daisy and Dandelion challenge. I used Baby Tilda for my stamp. I just love the Magnolia stamps. I have just purchased a few of them and cannot keep from using them, they are so fun to color. I used a pink and purple striped paper from my stash (sorry, do not know where I purchased this from or who the manufacture is) and some lavendar ribbon. I just love adding ribbon, it makes it look so cute!

Mickey Mouse

I made this for the Friday Sketchers challenge. Check it out here. When going to this blog the first thing I saw when I looked at this sketch was Mickey Mouse because of the circles at the bottom of the sketch. I figured since this was my first impression that I should stick with this theme. I used Disney papers and a Cricut cart for Thinking of You.

Tilda - March Magnolia challenge

This is my first post to the Magnolia US website. I used the March sketch from Magnolia. It was a really fun card to make especially since I was making it for a friend. I just love Tilda! I have just begun my collection so I don't have too many stamps yet but the few that I have I love!

Sweet Little Thing

I just love this card, it is so bright and cheery. I made this one for the Arty Girlz challenge of blue and yellow. I used a blue and yellow flower paper, a Sarah Kay stamp and yellow paper for my sentiment of Sweet Little Thing. Sweet little thing is from my graphically speaking cart.
